Learn Simple Yoga Techniques To Reduce Stress and Bring About Relaxation

Morning Glory Yoga Studios, as part of the East Texas Wellness Association’s on-going lecture series, will host a discussion group / workshop designed to help community members decrease stress through Yoga techniques. The event will be held in the Yoga studio located at 207 East Main Street on the historic downtown square from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22.

According to the American Psychological Association’s 2006 Stress Survey nearly half of Americans are concerned about the amount of stress in their lives. The American Academy of Family Physicians reports that two-thirds of all office visits to family physicians are due to stress-related symptoms. Clearly, stress is a major problem in modern America. Stress is associated with fatigue, depression, high blood pressure, insomnia and digestive problems to name only some symptoms.

This workshop will teach specific techniques and breathing exercises that anyone can do to help combat stress and gain a better sense of relaxation and well being. Wear comfortable clothes if you wish to practice the Yoga postures but those wishing to simply listen and learn are also welcome. A question and answer period will conclude the session. All are welcome! This is a free event.
