DIY Yoga Gear

How to transport your yoga mat to class is a problem easily solved by the crafty yogi. No matter what your crafting style (or lack thereof), there are a lot of easy ways to create a useful - and stylish - bag or strap for your mat. Below are a few ideas to get you started.

Crocheters can try their hand - er, needles - at this colorful bag. It's basically one giant granny square.

If you prefer to reuse and recycle, why not make a bag out of an old pair of pants?

This pattern is a perfect project for the beginning sewer. Straight lines on a sewing machine - a great way to meditate!

If you're more of a minimalist, nothing could be simpler than a colorful strap.

And don't forget - you can always buy a beautiful, sturdy, locally handmade yoga mat bag at the studio.
